Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

From a young age, I remember volunteering and wanting to making a difference in people's lives and in society. I joined the field when I realized I could embark on a career in which I would have have the potential to make a difference. I love working with people who believe in growth and well-being. I've always thought of my role as a therapist is to help my client's help themselves.

What are your interests outside of work?

Photography, camping, hiking, gardening, the beach, and spending time with my family and dog.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I eat well, meditate, and make sure I walk everyday.

What book have you read more than once?

Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. It is a story about a seagull named Jonathan. He is not like the other seagulls who just hunt for food all day. Jonathan wanted to perfect the art of flying and "fly where no seagull has flown before."

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Unite for Her. Because it is a nonprofit organization that supports breast cancer and ovarian cancer patients by providing integrative therapies, services, education, resources, and support at no personal cost.

How do you recharge?

A long, hot shower and a good night's sleep.

Do you have any pets?

Her name is Norah and she is a Cavapoo (a poodle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.) My favorite pet story is the first time I saw her groom my husband by licking his face from top bottom, including his eyelashes and ears!
