We've expanded! Services now available in AZ, GA, MD, NC, OR, PA, TN, VA, and WA.
Your family often has a significant impact on who you are and how you feel, so bringing them into the therapy process can sometimes be a key to healing. Together family members can work through emotional challenges, learn to communicate more effectively, and gain insight into complex family dynamics in a safe and supportive environment.
Starting with our initial intake, Octave is dedicated to getting you the right fit with an outstanding therapist who specializes in family therapy. We recommend that family therapy is done alongside individual therapy with another provider, to help you process discussions and explore other factors that can enable your progress.
You and your family (at least two other adults) will meet with your therapist for sessions on a schedule that works for you. Together, you’ll design a care plan, and your therapist will track and measure your progress to ensure that you can meet your goals.
Please note: Due to COVID-19, we are offering all sessions virtually until further notice.
When you complete your intake questionnaire, let us know that you’re interested in family therapy. A Care Navigator may follow up to better understand your needs and goals before placing you into family therapy, or your family therapist will discuss recommendations and next steps after an initial appointment.
Yes. However, Octave recommends utilizing family therapy as a complementary service to individual therapy, to help you process discussions and explore other factors that can enable your progress.
No. Unfortunately we currently only treat adults, 18 and over.
Family therapy is covered by insurance when it is centered around treating an individual’s mental health condition. Your provider will determine if family therapy is appropriate for your care plan and submit that to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you are seeking family therapy as a family unit, with no central patient need, insurance may not cover those services.
