MSW - Clinical Social Work, Smith College
I became a mental health professional after I worked for a non-profit organization providing academic and psychosocial support to students attending boarding schools. I was a traveling boarding school counselor! During this role, I realized that I needed more tools to support the mental health needs of my students. It was then that one of my mentors suggested pursuing a degree in Clinical Social Work. Here I am more than a decade later and full of gratitude for this career everyday!
I try to engage in activities that bring me joy like traveling or going for walks with my dog. I try to limit exposure to negative content on social media or the news. I also challenge any thoughts I may have that don't bring me peace.
I love anything that makes me laugh! Humor is mainly how I recharge. I also enjoy meditation and long walks.
Yes, I have a rescue chihuahua that I adopted during the pandemic. She keeps me on my toes and she thinks she's 10x bigger than she actually is! Every day with her is like a movie. Most terrifying is the time she ran away from me on a busy street the first day I adopted her. My sister stood in front of a train to save her!
