I am honest and direct, I like for my clients to feel confident enough to challenge me if necessary.

My Therapy Style

My therapy style is mainly using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Culturally sensitive approaches to provide space for change in the client. I have also trained in trauma-informed care and more interpersonal approaches such as Gestalt and Psychodynamic. I love seeing the change in the client. Once change happens, it is like a whirlwind. That drives me to continue to do this work. I am honest and direct, I like for my clients to feel confident enough to challenge me if necessary. Goal setting is a collaborative approach between me and the client. We determine the goal and how to approach said goal.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I had a professor in my BA program who really pushed me to pursue being a therapist. He was an Addiction specialist and was so engaging and charismatic. He drew me to this field and gave me the confidence to continue on this path.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am a sports fanatic (Go Lakers! Go Packers!). I love spending time with my family. I am a father of 3 and a husband. Most of my time is spent with them which is pretty awesome.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I began this year to learn how to play the guitar. I spend at least 15-30 minutes practicing. This helps me unwind and supports my mental health.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My favorite non-profit is CHIRLA or The Coalition for Humane Immigrants Rights. They help immigrants with the necessary paperwork to get the help they may need. My parents were migrants and they needed all the help they could to get a path to citizenship.

How do you recharge?

I recharge every day by having my cup of coffee and breakfast. After I see my clients, my children help with recharging me.

Do you have any pets?

I have a 4-month-old Dog named Bambi. We have only had her for about 3 months. I'm getting used to her biting everything.
