Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I wanted to provide a safe place for people to come and discuss their feelings without fearing judgment. I like to provide an understanding of the reason we think, feel, and behave in certain ways. From years of feedback from clients once they understand why they think, feel, and behave in certain ways they can self-empower change and growth.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and children as well as my puppies. I enjoy traveling, shopping, and running.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I try my best to do a daily devotional, I attend therapy, and I enjoy journaling.

What book have you read more than once?

Hoda Kotb I needed this today. It is a daily inspirational book. It helps me to redirect negative thoughts.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Children's Advocacy Center. It provides services to families traumatized by sexual assault and domestic violence. I have a strong passion for assisting in the healing processes for families.

How do you recharge?

I "unplug" from digital devices and focus on self-care, deep breathing, reading, and relaxation.

Do you have any pets?

I have two dogs, a Bloodhound, and a Heeler mix. My dogs are not aware they are animals. They tend to think they are humans often sitting straight up on chairs, couches, and yes even stools at my counter.
