The majority of our day-to-day behaviors can be best described as being on autopilot which means they occur more so automatically without our conscious effort. This process can be efficient but some parts can also cause us distress. My approach to therapy includes building awareness of distressing thought, emotional, and behavioral patterns that are part of this autopilot process and replacing them intentionally with more adaptive patterns. This helps create and strengthen new neural pathways in the brain. I utilize tools and teachings from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and other approaches to empower clients to have a better understanding of how the changes they are making are also creating everlasting changes in their brain. I believe practice makes progress and permeance because there is no such thing as perfection.
I take a biopsychosocial approach toward understanding my clients. I support my client's understanding of the biological, psychological, and social factors that are affecting them and together we will create changes that target each of these areas. I have extensive experience with panic attacks, anxiety, stress, insomnia, and mild to moderate depression

It started with a simple question I asked myself many years ago which was “What is one thing I can do for the rest of my life for free and find it meaningful and and fulfilling?” This is why my work as a Psychologist feels like a hobby that I’m good at and a byproduct of this love and enjoyment for my work is that I get the honor of helping my clients progress towards their goal. My professional belief is that I get to help clients create hope in the form of helping them understand themselves and create strength to do something with that hope through tools, skills, and consistency, then therapy has been successful.
I love kickboxing and body combat workouts along with running 3-5 times a week. I look forward to traveling and learning about cultures, human perception across the world, and food.
