Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I initially chose this profession to help African Americans, such as myself, due to noticing a lack of African Americans therapists as well as experiencing the stigma attached to getting help within my culture.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy reading historical fiction, biographies, murder mysteries, traveling, walking, and eating all types of foods.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I start my day with spiritual meditations and include daily walking in my activities.

How do you recharge?

I go for walks, talk to friends and travel. I have specifically chosen my place of residence based upon the proximity of parks and bodies of water. I find both calming and relaxing.
