Why did you become a mental health professional?

I did lay counseling for 10 years. I was limited to how much I could help those I worked with. I wanted to offer hope for those who's hurts were deeper and needed professional help.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love spending time with my grandchildren as much as I possibly can. I love to bake with them and have movie nights with them. I love being a part of my church family and attending a weekly bible study.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Every morning I spend at least half an hour meditating along with reading different scriptures from the Bible.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My favorite non-profit organization is Saga. This organization offers hope in the faith community giving a safe place for pastors and church staff, in addition to the congregation of churches to share their stories without judgment and offer hope with a biblical foundation and a psychological perspective.

How do you recharge?

I get a massage and/or pedicure.
