Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I am passionate about the art and science of healing mentally and emotionally. Becoming a licensed professional broadened my training, skills, and experience to support others in their healing process. I wake up each day loving my job!

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy being out in nature, hiking, mountain biking, riding horses, yoga, belly dancing, enjoying music, concerts, cooking, traveling, baking, reading, meditating, and spending time with my family, friends, and my animal companions

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Meditation.

What book have you read more than once?

Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, The Power of Now, The New Earth, and more! I enjoy a deep dive into the science of the brain, neuroplasticity, and learning how to be present to empower lasting, meaningful changes in my life and the lives of others.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Local non-profit organizations that provide care and support to animals in need.

How do you recharge?

Meditating, yoga, being out in nature, cooking, laughing, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying time with my animal companions.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, currently horses and cats, in the recent past I have also had dogs and cockatiels. Favorite pet story…so many to choose from! I went to a local no-kill cat sanctuary just to "look around" and came home with three (!) "unadoptable" senior cats that had been in the sanctuary their whole life. They had not been handled much and were quite feral. They are now loving lap cats who enjoy days filled with lots of love and attention in their forever home.
