Therapy Style

I have extensive expertise in helping clients with anxiety, depression, panic, relationship issues, fertility struggles, and postpartum depression.

I use a positive, solution-focused approach with clients, based on the idea that they already possess many tools for self-healing and greater life satisfaction. Using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and Psychodynamic treatment depending on what the individual needs.

I view treatment as a team approach with clients, focusing on the goals while at the same time, creating a warm, caring, and safe environment. I never tire of hearing people’s stories and am endlessly motivated to gain a deeper understanding of behavior and relationship dynamics.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have always been interested in relationship dynamics and understanding how people become the way that they are in life. I want to understand how to help people suffering from mental health issues.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I like to meditate.

What book have you read more than once?

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. It profoundly impacted my thinking by exploring the ambiguity and paradoxes of human meaning. It is very heavy and thought-provoking.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Habitat for Humanity. I appreciate that outside of raising funds there is an actual hands-on component of physically building homes for those in need.

How do you recharge?

Walking, cleaning, and organizing.

Do you have any pets?

I have two pets, an English bulldog and a French bulldog. My favorite pet story is how my daughter used to be terrified of dogs when she was younger. Once we got our dog, she became the most attached and slept with her every night.
