My Therapy Style

My job is much more than just a career. It is my passion to help people find peace in their lives through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and behavior modification. I deeply value communication and being an active listener to my patients. Therapy is only successful when all patients feel heard and can express themselves in a safe environment which is why I strive to create a compassionate, warm, and friendly environment. I provide direct feedback on the issues they are working through. It takes a great deal of courage to seek counseling, so I work with my patients to reach their goals.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

My father was instrumental in helping me choose my career as he supervised social workers. I always loved helping people and listening and encouraging people in my life. I enjoyed my classes and found fulfillment in seeing people change and meet their goals.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love to travel. I enjoy spending a lot of time with my husband and grown children.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I go for walks near the beach and in my neighborhood.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My husband and I volunteer at our church and facilitate a young adult group.

How do you recharge?

I love spending time with family, cookouts, walking, and traveling.

Do you have any pets?

We had a dog of 17 years that we loved dearly. My favorite story about Charlie was one time he figured out how to open one of our cabinets and we came into the house and he had scratched, bit and clawed into a LARGE box of brownies from Sam's club. Our entire kitchen was full of brownie mix. We all got a good laugh.
