Therapy Style

I am passionate about making the transformative power of a therapeutic relationship convenient and accessible to all. I walk with my clients through change and suffering to get them to the other side. My background in mental health and substance abuse treatment has allowed me to provide specialty care to those touched by these issues. My clients are the experts and I am here to help decode the messages in symptoms like anxiety and depression. Change, grief, and natural human development poke at unhealed parts and I see my work as providing a space for that healing. I believe that being listened to and understood is where that healing begins.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Learning to heal from my own experiences has helped me immensely. Now I get to pass that gift on to others!

What are your interests outside of work?

Live music, cooking, planning weekend road trips, and spending time with my Pomeranian.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Writing in my gratitude journal and planning my day.

What book have you read more than once?

101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think by Brianna Wiest. Short inspirational bits of wisdom in essay format which feel brand new every time you read them.

How do you recharge?

Leaving town and then returning always gives me a fresh perspective. Also swimming or sometimes just looking at water is a great mood booster for me.

Do you have any pets?

I have to give myself extra time when I take my Pomeranian Chip places because everyone wants to pet him. He's 5 lbs of fur and feels like cotton candy.
