Therapy style

My style of working is warm, thoughtful, and direct. I am committed to helping people discover and enhance their emotional capacity in order to live more satisfying lives. I like to incorporate ideas from various modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy although I like to tailor my approaches to each client's goals and values. My style tends to be solution-focused while being present with authenticity, empathy, and humor. My work in the mental health field started at an agency where I had the opportunity to provide therapy and crisis support for women in abusive relationships. After my traineeship at this agency, I served a younger population (adolescents) and their families at a non-profit organization both in the community and at a crisis stabilization unit. I have also worked as a case manager and outpatient therapist at Alameda County and as a Care Advocate at Optum. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 2015 as a psychiatric consultant in the ER setting, therapist in Oncology, and recently transitioned to a clinical supervisor role where I train and supervise pre-masters trainees. I have been a psychotherapist in a private practice setting for the last 5 years.
