Therapy style
If you have found yourself here, I applaud you for taking the first step in your healing journey. Using a collaborative, nonjudgmental approach, I will help you grow into the most fulfilled and authentic version of yourself by addressing your psychological wellness on a holistic level. Together we will explore the interactions between trauma and the body, mind, and soul, and develop the tools and skills that will help you transcend your trauma and use these painful experiences as a pathway to resilience and strength. My style, which is holistic and trauma-informed, primarily includes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with the belief that changing our negative thought patterns subsequently changes our worlds, allowing us to live the lives we want and deserve.
Alongside more structured therapies like CBT and DBT, I also incorporate mind-body healing practices including the Emotional Freedom Technique, mindfulness, attachment theory, and inner child healing. While I believe in treating the person rather than a condition, some of my specialty areas include the treatment of depression, anxiety, and PTSD, as well as the navigation of life transitions, and overcoming negative patterns of intergenerational trauma including people-pleasing, poor boundaries, and deficits in assertiveness skills. You can expect therapy to feel like a safe space where you, your needs, and your growth are prioritized, and where elements of the body, mind, and spirit are all equally emphasized. I look forward to meeting with you and traveling through this healing journey together.
