Therapy style
My therapeutic style is grounded in non-judgment and compassion. My focus is on improving holistic well-being and growth, helping clients heal their traumas. My roots are from India, and being from a different culture, I recognize importance of culture sensitivity and I enjoy working with people from different culture and ethnic backgrounds. I have an empathetic, respectful, and curious approach towards diversity.
My background is in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) which offers a variety of coping skills to create balance and reduce reactions to triggers that cause emotional suffering. Dialectical Behavior Therapy can be helpful in individual and group therapy. The core principle of Dialectical Behavior Therapy is mindfulness, which can help cultivate the life worth living. The approach of dialectics inform the basis of the therapy and guides individuals to not get caught up in the extremes.
I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, which is a trauma-focused therapy. It not only helps to reprocess and heal traumas but also helps to reduce emotional pain in a short period of time. It works well with different kinds and intensities of traumas, whether it is a deep-rooted past trauma attachments or everyday triggers that brings up emotional distress.
