Therapy style
I am a mental health counselor with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. I treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, stress, and unresolved issues of childhood. I am certified in Brainspotting (BSP), a technique I have used via telehealth with promising results.
My theoretical background is based on Attachment Theory, which addresses bonds we create in childhood via our caregivers which may result in an insecure attachment style as adults. Most mental health issues stem from the attachment style we developed as children. I have trained in evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-goal-oriented. We discuss areas of difficulty and what changes a client wants to address. The clinical interventions are carefully tailored to the client and with the client’s input. Progress is measured at each check-in.
