Therapy style
Hi, my name is Gwen Allen; I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with more than ten years of psychotherapy experience. My goal is to support my clients through life's greatest challenges; providing new insight, skills, and emotional tools to help them make choices they're proud of and to be able to live a more authentic life.
I provide individual therapy for adults, and couples, specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, family issues, issues of gender identity or sexual orientation, social dysfunction, and trauma. I use various evidence-based practices in treatment, primarily Dialectical Behavior Therapy to increase emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to change unwanted behaviors by changing the way you view yourself and the world around me.
I am an experienced, compassionate, and empathic listener here to help you realize you are not alone. In your time of need, I provide a safe, professional environment to help you navigate life and practice positive coping skills. I aim to provide a fresh outlook for those seeking direction or change in their lives and establish a solid foundation to deal with daily struggles of life.
