My Therapy Style

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Whether you are burnt out and anxious or have a formal diagnosis, I am confident in my ability to provide a safe and empathetic environment for you to begin your healing journey. My approach combines allowing you to process and unload while teaching you the necessary tools to bring about long-lasting change. I take a collaborative approach and fully believe that therapy is meant to teach you to fish, and not simply give you the fish. As such, you can expect to end therapy feeling confident to tackle many issues that come your way.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Throughout my childhood and teenage years I've struggled with my mental health, however this wasn't a topic that was discussed in my household or culture. I decided to become a therapist because I understand what it's like to struggle with your mental health and because I know that representation in this field is a must. Everyone deserves to have a therapist who is capable of understanding their cultural identity and takes that into account during treatment.

What are your interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. This includes my nieces and nephews (even when they take pleasure in terrorizing me). I also love hanging out with dogs out and traveling to new places.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Every day I try to set aside time for myself. This can mean practicing yoga, listening to music, meditating, or just watching a mindless TV show.

Do you have any pets?

I currently have two dogs. I have a Malamute, who looks like a wolf, named is Chico. I also have a Dachshund, named Habichuela (Habi for short). A fun fact is that my 4-year-old nephew named her after the Spanish word for beans!
