My Therapy Style

I will never tell you what to do, but I will ask you where you want to be. Therapy is a journey, and if we work together, please know how honored I am to go on this journey with you. I have an eclectic background, and I have found my best work to be in the realm of Dialectical Behavior Therapy and the existential, but have over 30 years of experience working with many different modalities. What does it mean to find our purpose in life? How can we make sense of the absurd world we live in? What are you afraid of and why? Let's talk about that together.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I fell in love with psychology in high school and was lucky enough to be in a school that offered psych and abnormal psych. This led me to my Bachelor's work. I was pre-med before working on my master's and found that LCSWs were spending the kind of time with clients that I wanted to spend while doctors were not. It then became my mission to help to improve the quality of life of as many people as I could, one person at a time.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am a musician and a writer (Fiction, Philosophy, and poetry). I enjoy being very active, going to the gym five days a week, hiking, yoga, and paddle boarding. My two boys are the lights of my life.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I meditate and try and get to my yoga mat. Also, I spend quality time with my cat.

What book have you read more than once?

The Myth of Sisyphus, because it helps me to understand the existential struggle to find meaning in our lives, and create purpose for ourselves.

How do you recharge?

Spending time in the mountains or paddleboarding, usually with my partner.

Do you have any pets?

I have a cat, and I absolutely adore him. His name is Spatula.
