Therapy style
I have a holistic/client-centered approach to therapy, and I utilize various techniques that promote a strength-based recovery to assist clients in developing and living more healthy and functional life. I also have trainings in evidenced-based practices such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety (Trauma and Substance Abuse) and Interpersonal Therapy. I’m eclectic in my theoretical framework, and the techniques I utilize in treatment are determined to aid each client individually based on their needs. My mantra is empowering and motivating, to prompt a mental shift resulting in inside-out change. I believe in collaborative individualized treatment plans helping people overcome fears, negative beliefs, and maladaptive behaviors that present barriers in successfully achieving their goals in relationships, finances, education, career, health.
I have over 12 years of experience working with individuals, families, and intimate partners in various settings including field-based, inpatient, and outpatient settings who present with moderate to severe mental health conditions that include mood disorders, existential and codependency issues, schizophrenia disorders and substance use disorders. Furthermore, I have extensive experience working with victims of human trafficking, sex and relationship issues, life phase changes, daily-living issues and vocational stressors, LGTBQ+, domestic violence victims. In addition, I have experience working with trauma, self-harming behaviors, suicidality, grief and loss.
