Therapy style
Most of my experience has been in treating individuals who have experienced depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, and significant life change (many related to the COVID-19 pandemic). I have worked in health and human services in different parts of California for the past 25 years. I have specifically worked with people who need support around housing and food insecurity, opioid use or dependency, as well as child welfare and grief or loss. I have a good understanding of social services and mental health resources in the San Francisco Bay Area, especially Contra Costa County. My counseling style is client-centered, open, and respectful; typically combining Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and mindfulness approaches. Our interactions and your treatment plan will be tailored to fit your specific needs.
