Therapy style
My style is non-judgmental and interactive, often lending itself to moments of humor and positivity that further the therapeutic bond and offer opportunities for increased self-compassion and forgiveness. My first priority when beginning treatment with a client is the development of a trusting, comfortable, and open relationship through which exploration of difficult issues can be made with increased ease and sense of safety. In building upon the trust established in the beginning stages of therapy, I then start to delve into present and past issues through a cognitive behavioral lens as well as an attachment lens to assist clients in better understanding themselves and challenging some of the automatic thoughts and behaviors that perpetuate their anxiety or distress.
