Therapy style

My goal is to cultivate a warm, non-judgmental, inclusive space for my clients to embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. I have extensive experience in supporting clients who have suffered acute and chronic health challenges as well as in supporting clients who are coping with significant life transitions (relationship changes, birth, loss, career transitions, etc). Every client brings unique strengths, identities, histories, and relationships to our work. I utilize a relational and collaborative approach, integrating these unique qualities into the treatment plans we will develop. In our initial sessions, I focus on a client’s specific therapeutic objectives to help chart a path of growth and healing for our therapeutic work together. I employ a multi-model approach and draw on training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My primary objective in all therapeutic work is to facilitate healing and growth, and ultimately, to help each client to leave our work with a renewed sense of self-confidence and self-reliance.

Approaches

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Harm Reduction
  • Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Interests

Outside of work, I enjoy dance classes (hip-hop and salsa), weightlifting, traveling, spending time with friends and family, hiking, going to see live music, and cuddling with my dog. I am also a reading fanatic and a passionate purveyor of tacos (all kinds of tacos are welcome!)
