With specialized training in the areas of trauma, anxiety disorders, and family systems I actively address the underlying issues and focus on developing awareness to enhance increased skill and confidence. Combining mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my approach, I focus on challenging negative thought patterns while assisting clients as they increase mindful awareness and acceptance. My approach is collaborative with the intention of illuminating my client's internal resources while uncovering the fear and anxiety that keeps them from living life with meaning.
It is my belief that our thoughts and inner dialog can trigger depression and anxiety while interfering with our self-awareness, possibilities, and our unique potential. By discovering the negative thoughts and underlying beliefs that cause suffering, I help my clients understand their personal power for change and then break free of the negative and limiting chatter that keeps them stuck. Using mindfulness and meditative techniques in addition to traditional talk therapy we focus on understanding, self-acceptance, and choice as a way to embrace personal responsibility and move toward the life they truly desire.
