Therapy style

Taking the steps to seek therapy can be a challenge. It is my mission to create a safe space for clients to heal and grow, and encourage personal freedom. I have over 12 years of experience working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Prior to beginning my Private Practice in 2019, I spent 9 years working with Kaiser Permanente's Psychiatry Department. While at Kaiser I was fortunate to work with a diverse population of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, religions, and various backgrounds. I also gained a wealth of experience with various mental health issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, suicidality, panic attacks, and various life stressors including work stress, relationship issues, family conflict, grief, loss, etc. Since opening my private practice, I have focused my work on helping individual adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression as well as general life stressors including unresolved traumas. I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused, Strength-Based, and Mindfulness therapy. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which I really enjoy utilizing when necessary. I do not believe that one therapy is right for everyone. I believe in an integrative approach that is client-centered, providing interventions and skills that draw from each of these modalities to hopefully assist in getting the client to achieve their treatment goals in the timeliest and most effective manner possible. I believe each person who comes into therapy has unique experiences, knowledge, strengths, and needs. I believe in gaining and providing insight to draw from each of those areas in a way that allows clients to feel seen, heard, and validated in an authentic relationship. I know that time is valuable and I aim to share as much knowledge, insights, and coping strategies as possible to assist clients in their journey to feeling and living a better life.

Interests

I love spending time with my family. We are foodies and love trying new restaurants in town at least once a month or more. I also love to cook together with my kids. I also watch my 14-year-old son play basketball with his travel team.
