Nice to meet you
I have experience working with diverse issues and populations including Depression, Anxiety, First-generation, Cultural/Racial Identity, Systemic Oppression, Immigrants, Black/Indigenous/People of Color (BIPOC), Polyamory/Non-Monogamy/Open Relationships, Life Transitions, LGBQ+ (Sexuality),Transgender Allied, Insomnia/Sleep, and Chronic Health Conditions.
Are you terrified of judgment in therapy because of a "non-traditional" lifestyle, relationship, or job? Are you exhausted by the demands of a system that never seems to give you a break? Are you experiencing feelings of guilt and shame of starting this journey because growing up your concerns were minimized or taking care of yourself was viewed as selfish?
I am a bicultural, anti-racist, social justice-oriented, Latina therapist with a focus on supporting folx in navigating the stress and trauma experienced in a system that was not created for us. I am here to help you unpack the complex emotions that arise when living in an identity that's "othered".
I make it my goal to foster a trusting, relational, and empowering environment for the people I work with so they feel in control of their healing. I value creativity in my sessions since therapy is not a one size fits all approach. I use a mix of evidence-based therapy modalities (while being mindful of cultural factors) including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. You have the power to decide what tools you'd like to use and practice! I want to invite you to work with me to make sense of your inner world and leave our sessions with feelings of clarity, calmness, and support.
