I bring an open and collaborative style to my work with clients. My focus is on identifying your needs and setting goals to address them. The treatment modalities I use are eclectic, to tailor the treatment to the individual or couple. I am very engaged throughout, offering feedback and identifying and recommending resources when appropriate.
Due to my location and work with EAPs, I have worked with clients from a wide-ranging background of cultures, ethnicities, races, and religions. I am a well-known relationship coach, therapist, and author of relationship articles, and have been frequently featured in major media.
MSW - Social Work, University of Maryland
I followed a crooked path to this profession, which started in low-level human service positions which exposed me to the need for caring and competent professionals to work with people who may otherwise fall through the cracks. From there, my continued training and experience led me to clinical social work.
Water sports, animals (domestic and wild!), reading, camping and the outdoors, gardening, music, and my family.
I practice gratitude every day.
Animal shelters. It's important to protect the defenseless and the innocent…and I love those they serve.
A good book in a quiet corner, a long walk on a favorite beach or in the woods, belly laughs with someone I love.
Right now, Gracie and Sophie, our 2 mid-size mutts!
