My Therapy Style

Therapy is a collaborative place for finding support in healing, developing self-awareness, and working towards your goals. It is a collaborative process providing an opportunity to bring awareness to how past experiences are affecting current struggles. In our sessions together, we will work towards identifying your goals and meeting your needs while working on healing, developing self-awareness, and practicing self-compassion. My experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and age groups in community-based and outpatient settings informs my culturally sensitive approach.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional because I have a deep passion for helping people navigate their inner worlds and overcome challenges. Witnessing the transformative power of therapy and the resilience of individuals facing mental health issues inspired me to pursue this career. I believe in the importance of providing support, compassion, understanding, and guidance to those in need, and being a mental health professional allows me to make a meaningful impact in people's lives. Additionally, I am fascinated by the complexities of the human mind and find fulfillment in the process of facilitating healing and growth.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

One daily practice that supports my mental and emotional well-being is mindfulness meditation. Taking just a few minutes each day to sit quietly, focus on my breath, and observe my thoughts and feelings without judgment helps me cultivate awareness and presence. This practice allows me to center myself, reduce stress, and enhance my ability to respond thoughtfully to challenges throughout the day. Additionally, mindfulness meditation helps me stay connected with myself and fosters a greater sense of compassion towards both myself and others. Overall, incorporating mindfulness into my daily routine serves as a foundation for maintaining balance and resilience in my mental and emotional health.

How do you recharge?

As a mental health professional, I must prioritize self-care and recharge regularly to maintain my well-being and effectiveness in helping others. I find rejuvenation through various practices that promote relaxation and balance. These may include mindfulness meditation, engaging in hobbies that bring me joy and fulfillment such as ethnic dance and group fitness class, spending quality time with loved ones, and connecting with nature through outdoor activities. Additionally, I prioritize setting boundaries between work and personal life to ensure I have time to rest and recharge. Taking care of my own mental and emotional health allows me to show up fully for my clients and provide them with the support they need.
