My Therapy Style

I have experience in outpatient, residential, inpatient psychiatric hospital, while providing individual, couples and family therapies. Over the 27 years, I have acquired keen assessment skills and clinical interventions to assist patients with multiple issues, ranging from childhood, adulthood, abuse, trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety. I have served my clients using mainly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) from systemic perspective. I personally believe in CBT (and other tools, including ACT: Acceptance Commitment Therapy). When these tools are fully embraced, it is truly an eye-opening, life-changing experience.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

When I was in undergrad, I was originally majoring education to become a teacher. During the course of training, I realized that children cannot learn properly if their home-environment or family relationship are not stable. That was the major motivator for becoming a LMFT.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy traveling and cooking. I recently got a taste of solo-travel: Initially it was scary to travel outside of US alone. However, feeling the freedom (of not being a "mom" 24/7) has been very addictive.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I pray and try to meditate each night to ground myself.

What book have you read more than once?

The Untethered Soul. The book takes me to 6th dimension of being a human!

Favorite organization/non-profit?

National Rescue Committee. It is important that we continue to think globally as we are all connected.

How do you recharge?

Just slow down…ideally with a cup of tea, and looking out my living room window with a green grass with tree branches waving with a soft breeze.

Do you have any pets?

I have 2 cats and I love piling up with them to take a nap!
