My Therapy Style

My approach to treatment depends mostly on the client and what brings them to therapy. I view the world through a dialectical lens, recognizing that though we wish things were black and white, we often live in the grey. I have worked with many populations and can adapt to clients to provide them with what they need from therapy, and to help them reach their therapeutic goals. I strive to provide a safe, comforting environment where clients feel seen and valued. I recognize that each client is an individual and that clients seek out treatment for a variety of reasons.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a therapist to help everyone and anyone learns that they are valued and that their experience of the world is valid. Our society is often not accepting of experiences or views that stray from the norm, so those who have atypical experiences can often feel overlooked and as if they don't matter. I see the value in each individual and believe that everyone deserves to be respected and accepted.

What are your interests outside of work?

I like going on walks, watching sports, and reading.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Each day I make sure to meet my most basic needs, such as drinking enough water and eating enough. We get so busy with trying to be productive, that these things are often overlooked despite how important they are.

How do you recharge?

I like to recharge by reading, watching trashy reality TV, and going for runs.

Do you have any pets?

I used to have a mini poodle who I adopted when he was 10 years old.
