Therapy style

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the great state of Florida with 13 years of professional counseling experience. I have experience helping clients, couples, and families with relationship issues, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, and anger management. I believe that you are the expert of your life story and that you have the strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey. I draw from an eclectic style of therapeutic models. I predominantly utilize the following modalities Person-Centered therapy, Solution Focused/Positive Psychology, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and a little Psychodynamic therapy. Underlying all the treatment models I seek to use a strengths-based approach focusing on your strengths (personal, social, and community networks).

Approaches

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Couples [The Gottman Method]
  • Harm Reduction
  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy
  • Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Prolonged Exposure
  • Psychodynamic
  • Relational
  • Solution-focused
