My Therapy Style

I help people find answers and grow. I have over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist. I have taught graduate-level students, supervised masters and postgraduate students, and created counseling programs to support people to feel better, be happier, and live more fulfilling lives. I have worked with a wide range of people and issues successfully and I can communicate with people of all ages. I am non-judgmental, understanding, and easy to talk to. I am collaborative by nature and like to facilitate relationships mutual respect and sharing of ideas. I can help you find meaning and joy in your life.

Why did you become a mental health professional?

It is what I do well. It's a calling. It's something I can do that helps others and makes me feel like I'm doing something useful in the world.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy gardening, chatting about social issues, learning, and being around people.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Meditation.

What book have you read more than once?

Green Grass, Running Water by Thomas King. It is about being human, redemption, and power. Also, it's well-written, poetic, and funny.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Southern Poverty Law Center, Doctors Without Borders, and my friend Barb who rescues all the neighborhood cats.

How do you recharge?

Gardening, reading, talking about interesting things, going to the Beach or somewhere wild and empty of people.
