Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I have had the opportunity to work through my own life challenges. I first considered becoming a therapist because I had learned so much in my own healing process and I wanted to give others hope. That is my goal with every client with whom I work - to provide hope.

What are your interests outside of work?

I like to travel, I enjoy hiking and walking on the beach. I love the time spent with my four adult children, as well as my husband of 32 years. I must admit I am always engaged in learning and reinforcing my knowledge with respect to this field. It really is a passion for me, and my intent is to continue to grow.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

I am a supporter of Human Options, a DV shelter where people can go to find safety and the support they need to change their lives and the lives of their children. I volunteered there on my own to answer their hotline, and then later when my daughter was a teenager, we provided snacks and movie nights for the children. It was fulfilling to provide them with a place of safety and hope.
