I have a passion for helping clients strengthen their relationships with themselves as well as the relationships of those around them.

My Therapy Style

I have a passion for helping clients strengthen their relationships with themselves as well as the relationships of those around them. I emphasized a client-centered approach and utilized psychoeducation, and skill-building to help clients practice skills that support their goals. Before private practice, I worked with adults, adolescents, families, and couples with dual diagnoses (e.g. substance use and mental health disorders) while in recovery. Through compassion, motivation, and collaboration, we’ll celebrate the wins and reflect on the progress and the challenges experienced.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Growing up in a Hispanic community, mental health was a topic that was rarely spoken about. I believe many people in my community could have benefited from services if the knowledge of resources was encouraged. It is why I strive to be an advocate and empower communities and anyone that wishes to gain knowledge about mental health.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy listening/playing music, outdoors activities, and spending quality time with friends and family.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Engaging in daily mindfulness exercises has been key to supporting my mental and emotional well-being. Whether is taking a moment to take a few deep breaths, or meditate, mindfulness continues to help me remain grounded and balanced throughout the day.

Do you have any pets?

I have two rescue dogs, both German Shepherds. Lexi is around 8 years old and Bodie is around 4. Lexi has a history of trauma and abuse. When we first adopted her, she was extremely skittish, standoffish, and mistrusting. Initially, she liked being alone and unbothered no matter how many times we tried to engage with her. With time and a lot of love, patience, and consistency, she slowly came out of her shell and blossomed into a loving, playful, loyal, protective, and caring dog. Makes my heart warm knowing we gave her a forever home and a second chance at life, where she feels safe and loved.
