I take a person-centered approach to therapy. Every person is completely different with their own set of experiences, history, and beliefs. Upon getting to know my client, I assess various life areas to help me get to know them better and grasp a better understanding of what modality may work best for them.
I give my clients the experience that I would personally want. I listen and get to know them. I explain that if we are ever going too fast or too slow on a certain topic, to let me know, because they are going to be the only ones to determine that. Ultimately, it allows them to learn more about themselves and helps them achieve their goals for treatment.
