I use approaches geared towards discovering behavioral patterns and then changing them to increase meaningfulness in your life.

My Therapy Style

I use Acceptance-based approaches when leaving thoughts alone and moving towards valued living is most appropriate. At other times, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches to facilitate skill development and to challenge thoughts. This ultimately increases your ability to flexibly adapt to constant novelty. Both approaches are geared towards discovering behavioral patterns that keep you stuck and then changing them to increase meaning and purpose in your life.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I grew up in a family with a history of substance use. This, coupled with my personal struggle with anxiety in adolescence, compelled me to seek help and understanding, eventually doing so for others.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love music, mostly playing the drums, and some guitar.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Anything but meditation… just kidding. I like to remind myself of the greater purpose of things, my values, my goals and aspirations, this keeps me connected and grounded in what fuels me.

What book have you read more than once?

I didn't know people did that… maybe I should try it. If there was one, it would probably be Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Fankl.

How do you recharge?

I like to play music, the drums and some guitar, to unplug from everything else and tune in to something novel or adventures, like gardening, exercising or hiking. Anything that removes me from the modern world, even if it is just for a second.
