Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

Through experiencing firsthand the pain of living with unhealed trauma and the freedom, ease, and clarity made possible by the right kinds of skilled support, I became passionate about mastering the art and science of engaging the innate human capacity for healing. I am also committed to building a world that works well for everyone and see the sharing of tools for emotional wellness and resilience as being foundational to achieving this end.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am an avid rock climber, ultimate frisbee player, acro-yogi, cyclist, whitewater rafter, and backpacker, and love getting to share in these pursuits with my kids.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I start every morning with family snuggles, the 7-minute workout, and riding my bike to work.

What book have you read more than once?

The Tao te Ching - I find it to be rich with wisdom and fresh inspiration every time I revisit it.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

350.org: Leading the movement to ensure a livable and equitable planet for our grandchildren.

How do you recharge?

I love to recharge by making music with friends, napping in the sun, adventuring outdoors, and, whenever possible, dancing!
