Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I had a wonderful experience with a counselor in high school. Even though their role was more academic, this particular counselor went above and beyond to really know who I was, what my goals and aspirations were, and encouraged me to follow them. This experience impacted me and gave me a glimpse of the importance of feeling heard, since then I knew I wanted to do the same for others. Feeling heard is a very healing and motivating experience.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love nature. I enjoy exploring new places and going on long hikes.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

One of the ways I support my mental health and emotional well-being is to be intentionally present with the people I interact with. I live by the mantra that the person in front of me in the present moment is the most important person. Having meaningful interactions with people helps me live a more fulfilling life.

How do you recharge?

I like having a good chat with a friend. I also enjoy just sitting and watching a good comedy show.
