Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I wanted to help friends improve their mental health and I was always attracted to how the brain functions, and how it is like a supercomputer that God put inside our head.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love traveling, fishing, gardening, and playing with German Shepherds and Frenchies.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I practice Qigong early in the morning.

What book have you read more than once?

The Bible. That is one book that is like a manual for life, relationships, and work. It also shows that unconditional love exists and that we have a supernatural being who cares for us regardless of who and where we are.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Holistic Recovery Alliance - Provides compassionate mental health counseling to empower lives and nurture recovery.

How do you recharge?

By taking mini-trips and going on dates with my husband.

Do you have any pets?

I have two Frenchies. My favorite pet story involves a beloved German Shepherd who had puppies with a neighbor's dog. He would go visit his puppies by opening the gate, visiting, and then closing the gate once he left. Security cameras were the only way to verify he was indeed the daddy and visitor!
