Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I became a mental health professional out of a profound desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives during their most vulnerable moments. As I pursued my education and gained hands-on experience, a long-standing deep-seated curiosity about human behavior and the complexities of the mind intensified within me. Each client I've worked with has reinforced my belief in the resilience of the human spirit and the growth potential even in the face of significant challenges. Through these experiences, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of therapy and compassionate care. Being on the journey of supporting individuals to navigate their inner worlds, heal past wounds, and build healthier relationships has become not just a profession, but a calling that continues to inspire and fulfill me every day.

What book have you read more than once?

One book I have read more than once is Viktor Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning. It powerfully underscores how resilient the human spirit can be and the significance of discovering purpose, especially during challenging times. Many of the authors' insights resonate deeply with me, shaping not just my personal beliefs but also my professional outlook on existential questions and the pursuit of meaning in life.

How do you recharge?

Recharging for me is a deliberate practice that involves nurturing my mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. I find immense rejuvenation in moments of stillness and quiet reflection. I also recharge by going on island vacations and taking solo walks in natural settings. These moments allow me to reconnect with myself and gain clarity amidst life's demands.

On a more personal note, spending quality time with my family is a cornerstone of my recharge process by simply enjoying each other's company.  I live for hosting holiday gatherings, an impromptu dance party in the living room with my loved ones, or an over-the-top family game night experience. For me,  these cherished memories fuel my resilience and positivity which brings much laughter and joy to my soul. These moments ground me and provide a sense of fulfillment outside of work. These diverse practices collectively nourish my spirit, enabling me to be fully present for my clients and maintain a balanced perspective in my work.
