Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I was the friend that most of my friends came to for advice. I always wanted to help others. I've always felt empathy towards people.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy pickleball, and spending time with my adult daughter and son. Luckily, they still like spending time with their mother. I have many friends with whom I spend time going to concerts, hikes, or nice restaurants and the beach. I have a multipoo that I love to take for walks.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I listen to funny or self-help podcasts while driving, listen to relaxing music in a bubble bath (some days), talk to friends, cook, or watch a good TV show.

What book have you read more than once?

Atomic Habits. I always learn something different each time I read it.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

Animal rescue or Child Welfare. Those are both close to my heart after my years at DCFS I believe that sometimes young children are not heard and do not have a voice and adults need to look out for them. Same with animals.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have an 8-year-old Multipoo, Leia. She is the sweetest. She loves people. She will stand on her back legs like a person when she sees someone she likes until they come up to her and give her love.
