My goal is to help you restore balance and feel like your best self again. Therapy is an opportunity to make a change in your thoughts and behaviors, improve relationships, manage life stressors, get support, and overcome obstacles by exploring these parts of your life, we will be able to develop a plan that will best suit your therapeutic needs. As a therapist, I believe there is no obstacle too great to overcome if you find the strength in yourself to reach out for support. I promise to help guide you through personal growth by structuring our sessions to fit your needs.
I continue to work passionately by improving my skills to help my clients by attending trainings and conferences around the country. In my free time, I love spending time with my friends, family, and my dog Zoe. I enjoy traveling, exercising, and keeping up with TV shows/movies. I believe in the importance of self-care and a good work-life balance so that I can be completely invested in my clients when we are together.
Utilizing mindfulness and adding time to decompress throughout your day are helpful tools to promote an emotionally balanced life. I recommend that my clients utilize techniques or activities that best fit them, their needs, and their personalities. For myself, I utilize going for walks, exercising, and journaling as ways to promote an emotionally balanced life.
I have read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky at least 4 times. I find everyone can relate or connect to the book.
Make-A-Wish Foundation is my favorite non-profit organization. It is an organization that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illness. This is an organization I have worked closely with throughout my life. While the children and families are going through traumatic experiences of being diagnosed and treated with a chronic illness, this non-profit organization will grant them a wish in hopes to create joy while they are fighting through treatment and recovery. As a previous wish granter, I got to see first-hand the happiness this organization can bring to the children and their families.
The way I recharge is by spending time with my closest friends and traveling. There is nothing more I enjoy doing on a weekend than spending time with my friends who know me the best. It’s a time I get to stop thinking about the stress of life and get to laugh with my best friends. While spending time with my friends helps me recharge on a weekly basis, I turn to traveling to do a larger recharge. I find it is important to take time for yourself to travel to experience new cultures and places.
My dog’s name is Zoe. I adopted her about 9 years ago from the ASPCA. The difficulty of adopting a dog, is sometimes you don’t know their exact history. I did not know Zoe’s but I did know she was badly abused and abandoned by her previous owners. My favorite memory or story about Zoe is the string of memories I have of her becoming the dog she is today. She is no longer anxious and hiding from people. She is outgoing, playful, and loving. To watch her personality change over the years has been so rewarding to be a part of.
