Special Interests

Working with clients with intersecting identities and/or multicultural backgrounds. Providing psychotherapy in Persian (Farsi) and working with Middle Eastern families. I enjoy community outreach and finding ways to reduce the stigma around receiving mental health services.

Therapy Style

Integrative (CBT + Psychodynamic)

Modality & Approach

A strong sense of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in treatment interventions, while considering Psychodynamic elements in case conceptualization (e.g., attachment styles). Using motivational interviewing to identify a client‘s strengths, using a harm reduction approach in substance abuse treatment, considering societal/cultural issues potentially influencing client’s behaviors.

What is your favorite restaurant in San Francisco?

Lavash in the Inner Sunset. It is family-owned, authentic Persian food. Per my father: ”Kabob just like they make it in Tehran!”

What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?

Checking in with a close friend/family member to feel connected and some form of getting my blood circulating- usually a walk or ideally an exercise class.

I love painting with acrylic paint and mixed media. I have hosted a couple art shows in The Bay, and I appreciate connecting with local artists. Also, taking the SF Muni train to Embarcadero and walking down Market Street to explore new art galleries, restaurants, and activities.
