My Therapy Style

My style of therapy is to meet clients where they are in their journey. I believe that there are no "right/wrong" answers, rather we are faced with perspectives and choices in life. Together we can sort through feelings and logic to uncover your truth, thereby empowering you to understand yourself in new and refreshing ways. This person-centered approach focuses on strengths within and celebrates the accomplishments that may have been missed or overlooked. Together we will create new meaning that facilitates healing, growth, and lasting change. I invite you to explore with me.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

During a cross country road trip after my uncle's funeral, I had deep processing discussion with my family about his murder. From that experience, I learned how effective processing thoughts and feelings are to create an environment for healing past hurts.

What are your interests outside of work?

I am artistic, creative, and beach-oriented. I spend time with family and friends. I enjoy biking, camping, and being outdoors.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

I exercise, walk, and meditate daily. I also seek guidance and supervision frequently to process the weight of heavy issues that are discussed during therapeutic sessions (with HIPPA compliant discussions at all times).

What book have you read more than once?

Atomic Habits, Dear Queen, and Celestine Prophecy. These books are favorites of mine. They provide support and guidance in ways that resonate with me personally.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

My favorite organization is doctors without boarders. I think it is wonderful that an organization provides much needed medical services and help to others in foreign countries.

How do you recharge?

I recharge by spending time with my kids and husband, being alone, and walking outside.

Do you have any pets?

Currently, we have one gecko. My favorite pet story is when my dog covered himself in red dirt when I lived in Hawaii. He was such a mess and looked at me with a guilty face when I saw the big hole he dug in the front yard. I laughed hard that day!
