My Therapy Style

I am an active listener and gentle with my approach, creating a space for the free expression of feelings and thoughts. I work with clients as a team and process the challenges together. I am empathetic and slow the process of healing by breaking down challenges in a step-by-step manner. I focus on the client's strengths and use them to drive and motivate healing. I also use mindfulness to help clients become attuned to the here and now. I also give guidance for challenging negative thoughts and feelings by approaching problems in an accepting manner and providing a sense of gratitude and a calm sense of life.

Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

I had a great therapist that I connected with and allowed me to grow as a person, and I thought if I could do that for someone else, it will be really rewarding.

What are your interests outside of work?

I like to cook Japanese, Brazilian, Chinese, and Indian food. I also like watching the Yankees.

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Writing in my journal to process my challenging feelings and thoughts, and listing 3 good things that happened that day.

How do you recharge?

I go for a walk near my neighborhood, or to the beach. I travel to see my mother in Japan, or I go see my family living in San Francisco and New York City.
