Get to Know Me

Why did you become a mental health professional?

My father passed away tragically when I was nine years old and from that point on it was my mother and I facing the world. Seeing her determination to make a better life for us in a new country, her resiliency to face unfathomable grief, and unwavering work ethic definitively shaped the woman and mother that I am today. All those difficulties early on in life paved my way into the mental health field.

What are your interests outside of work?

I love spending time with family and friends. We love doing water activities, watching movies on the couch, and board games — card night in my house can get heated!

What is one thing you do daily that supports your well-being?

Incorporating body movement at least 4-5 times a week is crucial for my well-being! It can be anything from a gentle walk to an intense class at the gym, it’s all about moving my body.

How do you recharge?

I am an outgoing introvert! I love socializing and spending time with others, but to recharge I need quiet alone time.
