Why did you become a mental health professional?

I always wanted to be in the helping profession. When I started out I wanted to be a pediatrician. However, after taking Psychology and Sociology courses in undergrad, I was drawn to mental health and the disparities in marginalized communities. So for my master's, I knew Social Work would be the best fit. It felt like the perfect discipline where I could help others in their mental well-being and be an advocate for those often marginalized.

What are your interests outside of work?

I like fitting in Sunday naps when I can, biking, finding new restaurants to try, and spending time with family and friends.
