Therapy Style

My approach is warm, attuned, non-judgmental, and understanding so each client can feel safe in exploring what brings them to therapy. For therapy to work, clients must feel accepted and heard. I also appreciate and welcome honest feedback and track how each client feels at the end of each session.

Depending on the needs of the client, I bring in Gestalt theory, cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, and maintain a strengths-based approach. Chances are clients have more tools and skills than they give themselves credit for.

What are your interests outside of work?

Spending time with people I feel close with, and anything nature-related. Especially with the monotony of pandemic life, doing something new has been a priority of mine.

What book have you read more than once?

When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chodron - there are very wise words and practices that support my work internally and in relationships. I really identify with the philosophies shared.

Favorite organization/non-profit?

The Bail Project as part of its mission is to combat racism and economic disparities. As we know, a disproportionate amount of people incarcerated are BIPOC and this organization aims to tackle racism in this direct way.

How do you recharge?

As an introvert, getting time alone gives me energy. Making sure I can carve out 1-2 hours of solo time.
