We are broadening access to high quality mental health services that is measurement-based and insurance funded.  Now more than ever, we are looking to serve communities dealing with the rising public health challenge of addressing mental health needs. Octave is VC-backed and was founded in 2018 with footprints in New York and California, as well as virtually nationwide. We are expanding our beautiful practices throughout New York and California, offering telehealth and also clinic-based services. Octave’s Queer Resilience Clinic (QRC) is dedicated to serving members of LGBTQ+ communities or those whose genders or sexualities may not fit neatly within dominant culture norms.

About the role

Octave is hiring licensed therapists to provide high quality behavioral health care to our clients. Octave therapists will join a diverse clinical team to provide therapy in a collaborative, client centered environment. 

Candidates must be licensed and demonstrate strong conceptual thinking informed by evidence informed therapies. Positions are highly flexible with regard to work schedule and caseload size, ranging from a few hours per week to full time work. With the position, it is currently 100% remote. In 2022, our hope is to safely open our clinic locations and transition our clinicians to a hybrid model, working partially out of the local clinic and partially remote. The ratio of working virtual to clinic-based with be very flexible and an individualized conversation with the Clinic Director.

  • Willing to integrate all kinds of data (qualitative, quantitative, objective, subjective) to inform case conceptualization and treatment plan
  • Show understanding of culturally responsive and culturally humble care and a willingness to commit to grow and learn in this domain over the course of your career 
  • Actively engage in our “One Octave” community by contributing to case consultation, supporting your clinical team members, joining for team outings and collaborating in our cross functional work (e.g. product, marketing, clinical research projects) 
  • Actively collaborate with other providers within and outside of the organization (e.g psychiatry and primary care physicians)
  • Providing the highest quality care to those in need

You are a good fit if you

  • Can demonstrate at least 2 years of experience providing mental health services to LGBTQ+ communities with high attunement to intersectionality
  • Have a strong foundation and belief in evidence based practice
  • Believe that strong case conceptualization is a key tenet of quality therapy
  • Are open to treating all types of clients with different presentations and personal/cultural backgrounds.
  • Are flexible in your thinking and approach to care
  • Have an open mind to learning from your colleagues and team members
  • Have a track record of flexibility, non-defensiveness, and a collaborative, growth mindset. 
  • Thrive in a culture of thoughtful feedback and transparency
