I have over 20 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families from various backgrounds. Being bilingual (Spanish) has also assisted me in working with clients in a secondary language. I enjoy using my clinical skills by applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions and Motivational Interviewing techniques while emphasizing a Strength-Based approach. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, recovery, depression, and managing life’s challenges, and transitions. I often remind the clients they are the experts of their journey and encourage them to use their existing strengths and regain those healthy strengths they may have used previously while embracing the new tools that will help their journey.

As I entered college I had an interest in the field of psychology and later found myself taking social work classes with an emphasis on mental health. I became very interested in the area of study and soon after decided to make it my career choice.
Outside of work, my passions are fatherhood, basketball, music, and learning. I also enjoy cycling as well as being at the beach.
To balance my day and manage my own emotional well-being I enjoy daily reflections to help me start and end my day. I also incorporate moments of yoga along with jazz music in the mornings. When possible I enjoy running, walking, working out, playing basketball, and a cup of tea.
The one book I have recently read more than once is The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. I gravitated to this book in the past in my role as a clinical director and most recently as a high school basketball coach again.
One of my favorite non-profits is the YMCA because I watched my kids grow up there playing basketball, swimming, and dancing.
I recharge with walks, short distance running, cycling, jazz music, and reflections.
I have a Rottweiler and his name is Rocky. He is truly a man's best friend.
